Shipaton for students

Everything students need to join Shipaton 2026 — the Next Gen Award and the Campus Party we throw for one standout school.

Why students ship here

Two reasons to bring your campus.

Most student hackathons end with a demo video and a repo nobody opens again. Shipaton ends with a shipped app. Active students aged 13 and older get their own prize category and a reason to bring the whole campus along. Students under the age of majority where they live need consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Your own prize category

The Next Gen Award is open to active students aged 13 and older. Submit a video and source code; no store listing or paid developer account is required.

A party for one campus

One school gets a Campus Party: a fully sponsored event on or near campus with food, speakers, swag, and RevenueCat engineers.

Next Gen Award

A lower-friction way into the competition.

Students should not have to buy an Apple or Google developer account just to compete. The Next Gen Award lets active students aged 13 and older enter with a video and their source code. Students under the age of majority where they live need consent from a parent or legal guardian and may compete only for Next Gen.

The prize for campuses

What is a Campus Party?

One school wins a Campus Party — a celebration hosted on or near campus and sponsored entirely by RevenueCat. We will pick the winner from the campuses that get most involved and where the best work is happening. It is part party, part workshop: the people who build subscription apps for a living come to your school and help your students do the same.

Fully sponsored by RevenueCat, hosted on or near the winning campus.

Food and drinks for every student who shows up — whether or not they submitted to Shipaton.

Talks from speakers and developer influencers in the mobile community.

Shipaton swag for students.

Live office hours with RevenueCat engineers on how to monetize an app and build a business around it.

Register, then bring everyone else with you.

Sign up, tell your CS club, and consider hosting an official Shipaton event at your school. The more your campus builds, the better its shot at the Campus Party.
