MeterTab is a menu-bar meter for AI coding usage on macOS, with iPhone and Apple Watch companions. It reads Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor logs locally and shows how much of your 5-hour and weekly windows you have left, what each session is costing, and which worktree is spending it.
Two things it does that a usage dashboard does not: it gives your agents a budget they can query over MCP and enforce with a Claude Code hook, so a runaway loop stops instead of draining your limit — and it answers your agents for you. When Claude Code needs permission to run a tool, or puts a multiple-choice question to you, MeterTab holds it and asks on your Mac, iPhone, or Apple Watch: allow, deny, or pick an option, without going back to your desk.
A live session view shows the same runs from the other side — which worktrees are busy, the command in flight, how full each context is, and the agent's own task list. The whole app was redesigned in 1.4.0, released August 2026.
MeterTab Pro is a one-time $19.99 purchase, universal across Mac, iPhone, and Watch. Requires macOS 14+, iOS 17+, watchOS 10+.
